So had I known putting two motion generators on my 9082 would improve play as much as it has, I would have added a second one longer ago!
Thanks to Coach T43 for the advice on power and placement. Thanks to Mr. Nutt as well for the excellent customer service and support.

It’s great to discover things that improve the enjoyment of the game. Coach T43’s right. It is a journey.

Yes! And smoother too. It’s almost like it took about 15 seconds for everything to synchronize. I thought I had made a mistake or, in the very least, gotten hold of defective parts, when all of a sudden, everything just planed out! I’ve been using the new setup for the Chargers/Cowboys game. Almost midway through the third quarter and they’re knotted up 17-17! Really good game so far.

😃👍

Is your field quieter now as I predicted?

It's like the old saying goes: "Motors and coaches are like heads - two are better than one." 😉😁

Quick question about that: I have two motors - one from ITZ and one from Tudor. My plan is to use the ITZ motor for games, and the Tudor motor for testing bases so I don't wear down either one too quickly, LOL.

So theoretically, do you think that by having the one Tudor motor permanently attached (but not running during gameplay), it will affect the vibration aspect of the other larger ITZ motor during gameplay? If so, I could remove the smaller Tudor motor during games, but would prefer to tape it on permanently since magnets make it move slightly when it's running...

Hi Coach. The short answer is, "I'm not certain because I've never dealt with this problem."

My long answer is just a theory. It's based on the Butterfly Effect so you can probably guess the rest. 🤔

If you think of the vibrating Motion Generator as creating ripples in the metal playing surface — like ripples in a pond — then it's easy to extrapolate that anything — however tiny — is going to affect those ripples.

This is easy to see on top of the field. My first example: I have a Back Judge with a magnetic base and at the end of a play there are little plastic peeps all around the Back Judge.

My second example is the sides of the playing field. Little plastic peeps always slow down as they approach the boundary because the frame is absorbing the energy of the ripple much like the shore of a pond absorbs the energy of the ripple.

Something as large as a Motion Generator is going to affect the ripples but will it affect the ripples like the magnetic Back Judge or like the frame of the field? I don't know.

I'd test the Butterfly Effect with a couple half-inch diameter neodymium magnets attached side by side to the bottom of the field. Pick a location at random. Put twenty-two players on the field, turn on the power, and watch for a minute. Do the little plastic peeps slow down as they approach the location of the magnets?

Do they speed up? that would be a very interesting result! Have you seen a magnetic catapult?

If the little plastic peeps slow down as they approach the magnets then I'd hypothesize the attached, non-running motion generator will have a similar effect.

In the way of answers that is all I have for you.

That's why I like picking it instead of my nose. It's more fun and it lasts longer. 🤠
