2020 Long Island EFL Week#1 Tennessee Titans vs Denver Broncos

Recommended Posts

broncos 2.jpg(Mile High Stadium, Denver, CO). As Week #1 comes to a close, the Long Island Electric Football League finished with a huge bang as the legendary comeback kids, the LIEFL #3-Ranked Denver Broncos (102-60-1 All-Time), took on the always competitive LIEFL #31-Ranked Tennessee Titans (21-18 All-Time), in a game that was originally postponed due to Hurricane Asaias. The Titans proved they will go the distance with anyone! In the five seasons since their arrival to the Long Island Electric Football League, Tennessee has made it to the AFC Championship Game twice and for the Broncos, they have won the division five times, been to the AFC Championship Game three times, and they are the only team other than Miami to have an undefeated regular season in 1982 as the Broncos went (14-0) only to be upset in the first round of the playoffs by Buffalo 28-27!

Fast forward to today's game, Denver Coach Paddy Brannigan just came off a loss to the New York Giants 10-7 with his Pittsburgh Steelers, so this was a relief to see his Broncos come alive. Coach Kevin Maloney brought his fast-paced Titans to play these Broncos tough.  The game was filled with fast-paced movement and big plays. Denver's Terrell Davis opened the game with a stunner, taking it back for a 100 yard kick-return for the touchdown, 7-0 Broncos!  The Titans usual return man All-Pro Brandon Jones turned his duties over Enron Kinney who was on fire tonight as Kinney responded with a 100 yard touchdown of his own, 7-7, tie game!

On Denver's next kickoff return Davis stomped an open hole for a 58 yard kick-return and one play later behind that huge Broncos Line, Davis scored a 42-yard touchdown, 14-7 Denver! Tennessee came right back as Kinney was stopped at the Titan 34 yard line. The Titans struggled running the ball, but Ryan Tannenhill was on fire as he lit up the air game hitting Kinney for a 41 yard first down and then a 43 yard touchdown!  The Broncos answered with Davis' second 100 yard kick return for a touchdown up the left sideline buzzing past a group of Titan defenders to put Denver ahead, 21-14!

Tennessee finally got going with running back Eddie George moving the ball up field with runs of 13, 9, and a three yard first down. Tannenhill wasn't finished.  He aired it out with a 50 yard touchdown catch by Kinney again, for his third touchdown of the day totaling three catches for 134 yards with two touchdowns, and then he had two kick-returns for 134 yards with the 100 yard touchdown!  What a day for Kinney 268 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns.  The score was tied with 1:38 left in the game!

Davis whizzed up-field for a 62 yard kick return and what a day!  The Broncos would drive the ball with seconds left, finally kicking the field goal to win the game 24-1! Davis went "Beast-Mode" with for the Broncos carrying the ball three times for 50 yards and a 42 yard touchdown run, and he had four kick returns for an amazing 320 yard game with two 100 yard touchdowns, totaling 370 yards with three touchdowns as the Broncos  head to Pittsburgh (0-1) to face Coach Brannigan again. The Titans face division rival Jacksonville (0-1) at home.
