What board should I start with?

It depends.  The smaller boards are easier to maneuver around and passing is easier using the smaller boards.  However, the 4x2 board is closer to scale and allows more room for running sweeps and pass patterns such as outs, outs and ups, flags, as well as spreading the defense to allow more room for curls, drags, slants, posts, etc.  It is more difficult to pass on the bigger board (if you use the TTQLs) and, ,obviously, it is a longer distance to make the 10 yards for a first down than on the smaller boards.  I just got a 4x2 this year and I really like it, although I do have to get up off my butt to pass and move some guys around. 😊
