Let's look at the base we tweaked in the previous video. See how it almost looks like it's smiling at you, with the two front prongs as the eyes. and the rear dial guide as the mouth? That means this base is set to go forward. 

Video 1: If I move the dial slightly clockwise, the player turns left.

Video 2: If I move the dial slightly counterclockwise, the player turns right.
