I grew up and live in Tennessee, but I’m a Packers fan.  When I was little, most everyone was Cowboys or Steelers, and the Packers sucked under coaches Bart Starr and Forrest Gregg.  I had to be different, and it would be 22 years before the Oilers would move to Nashville.

Those two teams were so great although I wasn't a fan I got to tip my hat to those Steeler teams of the '70s they were unbelievable. I like the Steelers never was much of a cowboy fan but can't knock their competitiveness. As for Miami I was introduced while on a stadium walk with my cousin at the old Orange Bowl and I fell in love with the dolphins. I was a huge fan of Earl Campbell he was unbelievable and I used to love watching him play I'll never forget that night when I think he had 199 yards against Miami

That’s weird.  It was a good run, but It wasn’t as good as the slow motion one where Wilson was kept out of the endzone.  Being from Long Island, are you Giants or Jets?

Hey Greggy ... Neither! I am a Dolphins fan and Raiders fan!

I think “The Epic In Miami” is worthy. How about “The Catch”! And who can forget “The Drive”

Was at that Miami Chargers hook n ladder game when Tony Nathan busted loose ... What a game!

Between running out of bounds and taking their 2 timeouts, the Jets are actually able to score a TD from 1 yard out.  On to OT.

The Browns get the ball first, snd score on a dump off to Kareem Hunt.  Browns 42-35

With the new NFL playoff rule, the Jets get the ball.  Once again, Zach Wilson connects to Garrett Wilson for a TD making it 42-41.  The Jets have only stopped the Browns once all day.  So, they are going for 2.

The Browns changed up their defense for this play (which obviously should have been done earlier).  They double team G Wilson at the line and play a zone at the goal line.  The double team forced G Wilson slightly back towards the middle of the field.  You see #8 for the Browns who was sitting in the zone (with a freezeframe) stop Wilson short of the GL.

I love great plays, whether they are on offense or defense.  This was a great defensive design.

The #7 seed Browns beat the #2 seed Jets 42-41

    Time for kickoff!

The Jets gave been led by Garrett Wilson, who has averaged 5 receptions and 129 yards a game.  Breece Hall has done virtually nothing on the ground.

The Browns have played gritty against one of the tougher schedules in the league.  They have had a different player step forward in every game.  They’ve mostly relied on the passing game.  But, in the final week of the season against the Steelers, Jerome Ford rushed for 153 yards and 1 TD, while Kareem Hunt added another TD on the ground.

That's the kind of team that can win playoff games

Two good matchups and gritty football is fantastic. Love the matchups.

Yes i’m finally doing an expansion to 12 teams but i’ll probably only do 15 at most only because recruiting for more may be hard.

To answer you question about coaches they play more of an off the field role with recruiting and schemes but once a game i do a dice roll if the away team blows a big play then 1-14 the coach explodes and gets a penalty 15-20 nothing happens.

JJ I forgot to ask you what size tires are you using

The Rams are the home team, but they are forcing the Cowboys to wear their blue unis.

Both teams have played a pretty weak schedule.  The Rams are led by RB Kyren Williams and, to a lesser extent, TE Tyler Higbee.  The Cowboys have relied mostly on Tony Pollard.  (They are not informing him about his move to the Titans until after the season 😂).  WR CeeDee Lamb has come up with some key plays as well.  It should be an interesting matchup.  The Cowboys win the toss and defer.  0F56F2B8-BC87-4A88-8814-6CF2779F2A21.thumb.jpeg.9fab913c6165b3fb95b69ce9718151c7.jpeg

I agree 100%. I like the AEFL values: 1. Easy setup; 2. Under two hour game time; 3. Plenty of Big Plays; 4. The coach's skill set is a non-factor; and 5. Fun.

I didn't look at the coverage circles video until today. That's when I noticed the AEFL uses Stop-Forward-Progress tackling.

The AEFL defines a tackle as, "A running back is forced in a negative direction by direct contact with the front of the defender's base or the side of the defender's base." Here's the AEFL video.

Tackling is described at the 8:22 mark in the video.

My definition is a bit more strict: A running back is forced in a negative direction. I do believe the AEFL definition is very well thought out and — if I was in a league — I could play with that rule.

I found all the rules to be excellent alternatives to the TOEPRO rule book.

    Excellent analysis Terry

Carl from the AEFL has developed an interesting idea that helps minimize bias during pass plays.

His method takes the decision of whether to throw or not out of your hands.   He does this by using what he calls Coverage Circles.   Coverage Circles are templates that you will use to determine whether you can throw to a specific receiver or not based on how “open” they are.

    Carl explains this in his youtube video;

I am planning to try the Coverage Circles for my solitaire league.  Many times I decide against a pass as too risky but then I always wonder if I did that team a disservice.  Using the templates will take the onus of that decision off me.

all of his videos in this series are extremely well done and he has developed a well thoughtout  rule system.  Check them out if you haven’t already.

Sometimes flipping a coin takes that decision out of the coach's hands as well

We pressure the passer in our league by setting the quarterback to turn in the opposite direction he is only allowed to run 20 yards and you must complete or attempt a pass by the time or it is a loss of down

No sticks involved all passing skill with the yellow Tudor passer. The defender can line up on the line of scrimmage in the offensive players can be 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage in our league. Our league is a One stop League.

I believe there should be a maximum "throw", which should apply to stick passing and TTQB passing.   The maximum EF FG is capped by the maximum NFL FG.  My EF kicker can boot 150 yards, and my EF QB can throw 150 yards, so why restrict my kicker but let my QB do anything?

Tying the "pressure" to the throw is an interesting idea.  How about disallowing long passes (longer than the red/white stick) if a defender is within the orange stick?  Maybe the same should apply to TTQB?
