Browns at Jaguars (Divisional)

The #1 seed Jaguars host the #7 Browns.  The Jaguars are led by RBs Travis Ettiene and Tank Bigsby.  The Browns just upset the #2 seed Jets.  As mentioned at the start of that thread, the Browns have had a different player step up in each of their wins.  RB Jerome Ford has gotten hot in the last 2 games.  
 

The Jaguars have the #1 defense in the league allowing 16.25 points a game. They are much like the Colts in that they have a great edge rush, then fly around the hall once it’s caught.

The Browns won my 3rd SuperBowl (I was probably 10 years old LOL)under Coach Sam Rutigliano.  Brian Sipe, Ozzie Newsome and Greg Pruitt led the way to a 52-49 OT win over the Cowboys.

Going to be interesting.  Etienne is explosive.  I feel like the Browns will have to convert a lot of 3rd downs

LOve those players! We still have Mike Pruitt on our Browns, ans Jim Brown as well being that he is from Long Island! That was a great score!

End of 1st quarter, Jags 7 Browns 0.

The Browns have converted one 3rd down and one 4th conversion on their current drive.  It’s not that the Browns have played bad.  The Jags defense is flying around the ball

The Browns kick a FG for a 10-6 lead.  But, their kickoff goes out of bounds, and the Jaguars get the ball at the 40.  Lawrence proceeds to hit Christian Kirk (#13) for a 60 yard TD.

 

But, Tank Bigsby is tackled short on the 2 point conversion.

 

 

 

Jaguars 12 Browns 7 with 30 seconds left in the half.

The Browns have exposed a couple of weaknesses.  Ford is definitely getting his share of yards against the Jaguars D-line.  And, the Jaguars weren’t putting much pressure on the QB til the very end of the half.

The Browns have totally dominated time of possession.

The Jaguars hold the Browns to a 3 & out to start the second half.  Then bad punt coverage results in an 80yd return by Ettiene.  (Also, Ettiene’s vase usually veers right.  Stayed straight.  It’s like the base wanted to “make a play”)

 

2pt is converted and it’s Jaguars 19-7

In the 4th quarter, the Browns pounded out an 11 play drive to take a 28-20 lead. Lawrence took the Jaguars down to the 6 with 10 seconds left and hit Zay Jones in the back of the endzone for 6.  The 2pt conversation failed when Lawrence was sacked.  The onside kick was recovered by the Browns

Final Score Browns 29 Jaguars 26

In the last week of the season, the wildcard and the divisional game, the Browns have taken the North Division champ, the Eastern Division Champ and the South division Champ.

Ford’s stats to come tomorrow.
