COACH: Joey Pizz (12-13)

FROM Coach Pizz: "It was a thrill informing Tudor Games Electric Football Hobbyists' of our Long Island Electric Football League, but we doubt we will repeat the coverage of our LIEFL next season.  It was lots of work and unfortunately, little readership. We thought that electric football enthusiasts around the world would have more interest in sharing electric football stories, game day, and actual games, but it's hit or miss, and it won't stop us from loving the hobby and playing on!  We shared every game of our 2020 season, videos, statistics, and records from nearly 50 years of dedication! Very few leagues in the country have the extensive information we have collected over the years in this action-packed, fast paced league, as we took our league from boys to men with a core group of professionals! It was amazing and we enjoyed the forums as we celebrate an incredible 50th Anniversary in the hobby in 2021, and an incredible $3,200 jackpot in next year's LIEFL-Super Bowl XVII to our Winner!" Booyah!

Today in New England, as WEEK#7 winds down with this classic rivalry! It will be exciting! It's a playoff like atmosphere for the New York Jets (3-3), and the New England Patriots (2-4).  New York is ranked #25 all-time in the Long Island Electric Football League with a record of (60-80), but they've had some great seasons and upsets. This season may go down as one of their best because they've been in it every single game with the exception of the Rams game. They lost to the Buffalo Bills in the season opener 14-7, then they beat San Francisco 14-10, lost to Indianapolis 17-6, but they beat Denver in overtime 24-21! Then New York beat Miami that following week 20-14, in overtime! Last week they lost to the Los Angeles Rams who dominated them in the second half, as the Rams went on to victory, 21-13! LA Coach, Billy O'C took advantage of Coach Joey Pizz' mistakes.

This week may be a different story for Pizz and his Jets. We will see if Pizz can take advantage of rookie coach, Levi Vick's mistakes today!

Rookie Coach: Levi Vick (8-16)

Rookie coach Levi Vick's New England Patriots (2-4), have been sporadic at best. The Patriots are due for an overhaul at the end of this season, including updated uniforms for the LIEFL-24th ranked New England Patriots, who have 62 career wins and 76 losses. For the Patriots, there's been two shining lights, lineman John Hannah and tight end Rob Gronkowski! Gronkowski has gone over a thousand yards with 1014 and two touchdowns, ranking him #10 in LIEFL-all-purpose yards! The Jets and the Patriots are in strong contention for the playoffs, and if the Patriots beat the Jets here today they have a shot at making the playoffs for the sixth time in their history. New England has had a shaky season. They started off with an unusual home loss for New England, losing to rival Miami 17-10. Then they lost to Seattle 17-14, but in WEEK#3, the Patriots beat Las Vegas 27-21 in a wild offensive shootout! The following week they were upset by Arizona at home 21-14, and then last week they lost again, to Miami for the second time this season by the same score as their first outing, 17-10! "Gronk" has to have a big day today against a tough Jets defense!
JETS STUN PATRIOTS 17-14 IN OT TO ADVANCE TO AFC PLAYOFFS!

cleardot.gifWhat an exciting opening kickoff in a playoff-like atmosphere! New England's Rob Gronkowski ran the kickoff back 43 yards and he was hit hard by Bruce Harper! After being stopped on the first two runs by that tough Jets defensive line, on third down Patriots quarterback Tom Brady threw a sideline passed to Rob Gronkowski and the "Gronk" took it 56 yards to the Jets 13 yard line with 9:54 remaining in the half for a Patriots first down! Gronk has been a big play Man all season for the Patriots, and he's about to see his second straight LIEFL-Pro-Bowl. Running back Lawrence Maroney ran the ball to the two yard line for another New England  first down. On the next play Maroney ran it in from two yards to give the New England Patriots their first touchdown of the game and the lead 7-0, with 6:37 left to go in the half!

On the opening kick return for the Jets, Wesley Walker was slammed at the 33-yard line by New England defensive tackle, Tony McGee! On first down the Jets running game kicked into high gear as Le'Veon Bell ran for seven yards, and then 19 yards on second down to the Patriots 42-yard line for a first down with 1:15 left to go in the half! Wow! On the next play, Bell exploded around the left side of the field into an open field for a sizzling 42-yard touchdown run  to tie the game at 7-7, as the first half came to a close! New York looked real sharp on that play as the war was on! Jets running back Le'Veon Bell has come a long way in the last two season for the Jets as they redeveloped their running game!
JETS3art.thumb.png.af4cc323af68e75c44ed0e55c012fb5c.png
What an explosive kick return for the Patriots to open the second half as Rob Gronkowski blasted through a hole taking it into the end zone on a 100 yard kickoff return for the touchdown, with Wesley Walker chasing him! The Patriots take the lead 14-7, with 1443 left to go in the game and this one is not going to end easy for either team as they fight for an opportunity to play in the postseason! What a run by Gronk, his third hundred yarder of the season for New England!

The Jets came blazing right back with a 52-yard kick return by Wesley Walker! Jets running back Le'Veon Bell was stopped on his first two runs, but then on third down New York quarterback Sam Darnell hit Walker on the numbers for a 28-yard first down, bringing the ball to the New England 31-yard line with 8:44 left to go in the game! After another failed run by Bell, we saw the New England defense come on strong as the Jets lost 15 yards, forcing a pass play on second down with time running out in the game and 5:48 remaining on the clock. Wow! Out of nowhere, Bruce Harper caught a beautiful pass from Darnell for 28 yards, bringing the ball to the New England 15-yard line with 5 minutes left to go in the game! The Jets and coaches are in a perfect position to kill the clock here and try to drag this game into overtime, and Coach Pizz is anxious, playing his heart out here as he tries to take advantage of the rookie coach Levi Vick. What a play! The Jets offensive line bullied their way into the end zone with Bell scoring on a 15-yard touchdown to tie the game with 3:38 left to go in the game with the score tied, 14-14!

On a great kick return the Gronk took it back 41 yards with little time left to get to midfield to kick a field goal. On first down the Patriots threw the ball away with nobody open and a pass that was too complex for coach Vick to make by Tom Brady as the time ran out of time in regulation!

We are in overtime and the Jets won the overtime coin toss as the room went wild with an upset in the making in the final WEEK#7 rivalry!

Unbelievable! the Jets pressed forward on the kick return which Wesley Walker took back 36 yard, with the excitement building!  On first down Sam Darnell hooked up with Le'Veon Bell for a 45-yard pass play, taking it to the 18-yard line where the Jets took no chances and kicked the field goal to win the game in stunning fashion, 17-14 at 2:12 of overtime!  The New York Jets (4-3) upset the New England Patriots (2-5), and looks like the Jets may be going to the AFC playoffs!!! Coach Pizz was overwhelmed with emotion!  He said, "People always doubt these Jets, but now we have a fighting chance to win the AFC. Don't count us out. We are just getting warmed up."
