It is another huge game in the Long Island Electric Football League, this time against two sizzling hot division rivals on Veteran's Day, as we honor the men and women who have served this country! It's the final week of the LIEFL for Washington's Coach Viggs! After coming off a hard loss to his previously unbeaten Green Bay Packers (6-1), Viggs is in a similar predicament, but he is determined to win. His Washington Football Team is on the road with their backs against the wall, facing a fierce division rival with an electrifying high-octane offense in the Philadelphia Eagles (4-2). Washington beat the Eagles in the season opener 13-10, so this game will be one of planning and execution. Both of these teams are prepared for battle, but we expect that it will be a defense war!  Viggs finds ways to win, and the Eagles will have to stop Tony Green, the NFC #9 all-purpose player with 55 carries for 1126 yards with six touchdowns, two 100-yarders! Viggs said, "We are coming run-and-shoot today because the Eagles have a great defense, so my plan is to slow up Big Number 17, and drag the team to overtime. This game should be a Veteran's delight!"

NFC teams have figured out Harold Carmichael after last year's brilliant season, but today, Carmichael has to come up big to give the Eagles a shot at victory. running back Kieth Byars needs this team to run on all cylinders to beat Washington. It's not as though Carmichael has shown shades of fading decline, it's more like the coaches in this league have worked their placements more strategically in order to slow the speedy special team's All-Pro from allowing the game to sizzle out of control! Carmichael currently ranks #5 in the NFC in all-purpose yards with 20 carries for 1321 yards, with seven touchdowns, six 100-yarders!

November 11, 2020. Philadelphia, PA. This is just another LIEFL tremendous matchup on the playing field today in Philadelphia. On the opening kickoff Harold Carmichael seemed to limp the ball back 30 yards. Coach McQueen is determined to run the football and kill the clock against Coach Viggs. On four straight runs Keith Byars found his way all the way to the 39 yard line of Washington, with 7:05 left to go in the first half on runs of eight, one, six, and 16 yards. The Philadelphia Eagles front line led by Hugh Douglas pounded their way for another 8-yard run by Byars. Byars again, ran for 11 yards and clinched another first down with Charles Mann making his third tackle at 4:04 left to go in the half. The Eagles ran the ball all the way to the Washington 21-yard line.
What a brutal first half of football! It took nine plays for the Philadelphia to get into the end zone, but Coach McQueen succeeded in killing the play clock in the process as Kieth Byars ran in a 16-yard touchdown on the last play of the first half to give the league to the Eagles 7-0!

On Washington's opening kickoff halfback Tony Green ran straight to the middle of the field for a 32 yard return. The Philadelphia defense played huge, stopping Green on three runs until Washington's Art Monk caught a cross pattern pass for 8 yards for the first down from quarterback Dwayne Haskins. Eagles defensive end, Jerome Brown came up big for the Philadelphia as he tackled Green in the backfield for a 5-yard loss at Washington's own 40-yard line, with 8:01 left to go any game.

On third down Charlie Taylor came through on a huge play by Dwayne Haskins who threw him a dump pass and Taylor took it 52-yard to the Philadelphia two-yard line with 4:33 left to go in the game! On the next play, Tony Green ran the ball in from two-yards away for a touchdown to tie the game 7-7, with 1:43 remaining in an amazing defensive game!

The usually reliable Harold Carmichael could only muster up 30 yards on the kick return and that put the Eagles in horrible field position, forcing pressure on the offense to get to the 40 yard line in field goal range, but that never happened. On first down the Eagles passed and get nowhere, and the game went into overtime with Coach Viggs Washington Football Team winning the coin toss!  Wow! Tony Green returned the kick 45 yards and Washington wasted no time going after the corners of Philadelphia, and one play later Washington receiver Art Monk buzzed 55 yards in overtime into the end zone as Washington went on the upset Philadelphia 13-7, in a game the Eagles need to forget with the playoffs next week! An absolutely stunned Coach McQueen had to hold his frustration back. Coach Viggs did his usual raising his fist in the air as he walks off with another stunning victory!
