The Kansas City Chiefs are still in the rebuilding stages and to coach Matt "Zoo-York" McQueen's disappointment, this season is another wash for Kansas City. They are (2-10) in two seasons, so changes are coming! The Chiefs have lacked production after an abysmal (1-6) season in 2019, they Drafted up, but the only prize they won was special teams receiver Tyreek Hill, who is learning the league still. Kansas City has lost four straight games. They lost in WEEK#2 to their division rival, Los Angeles Chargers 20-14, and then they lost in OT to the tough Baltimore Ravens 17-14, New England at home 10-7, and then they lost last week to Tampa Bay, 17-14. They may repeat again as one of the worst teams in the league unless they win the next two on the road, which in this league, is unlikely. You have to have an amazing game plan to beat teams on the road because in this league the home team always gets the ball first. McQueen himself has struggled with 13 losses on the year. The competition has been fierce.

There are a few bright lights to build around for the Chiefs. Kansas City running back, Priest Holmes has made a comeback this season after a slow start. In the last three games Holmes has 282 yards with five touchdowns, ranking him #7 in AFC Rushing this season. He has totaled 33 carries for 333 yards and six total touchdowns on the season including a 60-yard touchdown run. Coach McQueen needs to get him the ball more. And Hill, who barely touched the ball in 2019, his rookie season, is still a work in progress with 466-yards on kick returns with one touchdown. This should be a very good matchup within unpredictable outcome!

In a city that's been decimated by several storms, the New Orleans Saints have ridden the waves in the Long Island Electric Football League over the years. This team has been mystical this season, but after the 2019 season, the Saints started to show signs of going back to that old championship way when they played in two LIEFL Super Bowls. This season New Orleans began by edging the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in WEEK#1, 17-14, then they lost to the Raiders 10-3, and the undefeated Packers 14-10, and then they lost their third game in the row for the season against Detroit, 21-14. But after beating Denver last week at Denver 17-14, this erratic team made their season matter in a pivotal win leading up to this game. The Saints are not out of the playoff picture yet, and they have a small outside chance with the seventh seed added to the 2020 playoff format, to actually make the playoffs in the NFC. It won't be easy. They'd have to beat division rival Carolina next week in Carolina, and that is next to impossible, but the Saints have spoiled before. Last season they crushed the high-octane Atlanta Falcons playoff hopes in the last game of the season, upsetting them, 26-21!

Reggie Bush has been the Saints guy . He has 238 yards rushing with two touchdowns and 560 yards in kick returns, totaling 934 all-purpose yards with five touchdowns this season. The only other weapon that they seem to have is Jeremy Shockey, who has caught four passes for 109 yards, with two touchdowns.

This Saints team has been in two LIEFL-Super Bowls, although not with the same player base bottoms, the pride has not changed! There is rich history here. New Orleans lost in 1978, in LIEFL Super Bowl IV to Miami 34-28, and then in 1992, New Orleans beat Miami in a stunning victory in double OT, in LIEFL Super Bowl VIII, 26-20! Since then, the Saints have been disrupted other teams, and have only made it to the playoffs two times. It's been 12 years since they last played a playoff game losing the NFC Wild Card Game to the New York Giants that 2008 season, 24-21!

November 4, 2020. New Orleans Louisiana. On the opening kickoff New Orleans running back Reggie Bush ran the kick back 52-yards. The Saints seemed revved up and ready to go! On the Saints first run, Bush ran for four yards against an aggressive Kansas City Chiefs defense, who have been lackluster at best this season. Coach McQueen said he has a motivated team today, who has lots to prove about being competitive. On second down, Bush found his way through a tough defense for a seven yard first down, brining the ball to the 37-yard line of the Kansas City. On first down the Chiefs started to figure out the New Orleans offense, dragging Bush down for a loss of 10 yards on the play. The Chiefs defense came up big! And, after two failed runs by Reggie Bush, on fourth down, New Orleans kicked a 52-yard field goal to make the score 3-0!

The Saints need to beat this Kansas City team in order to remain in the NFC South playoff hunt for a first place tie with Atlanta and Carolina, both (3-3).

On a kick return for Kansas City, Tyreek Hill ran the ball back 44 yards, and he was hit hard by Joe Federspiel! The Chiefs are going to switch duties a little bit in their kick returns from Hill to Tony Gonzalez, who will get the next return as Kansas City lets loose in their play calling, trying to go with anything that works. We'll see if Kansas City running back, Priest Holmes can carryover from his last two performances, rushing into this game. The Chiefs need Holmes to pick up where he left off in order to have a chance in this game.

On first down Holmes bullied his way, 16 yards upfield to the Saints 40 yard line! After that 16 yard first down the New Orleans defense got pretty angry and the Chiefs got pushed all the way back to their own 45-yard line, for a 15-yard loss. But on the next play Holmes came up huge as Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw a short dump pass at the 45 yard-line to Holmes, as the Saints watched Holmes take it 55 yards upfield for the touchdown, to make the score 7-3, with 30 left as the first half came to a close.

On the ensuing  kickoff Reggie Bush took the ball back 48-yards, and he was hit hard by Priest Holmes! The Saints needed to try to get some offense going in this set of downs. And on a beautiful slashing spinning play Reggie Bush exploded 41 yards to the chiefs 11-yard line on his best run of the game. All of the sudden the Saints came up with a burst  of energy from 11 yards away, and Bush scores a touchdown on the next play, to give New Orleans the lead 10-7, with 10:50 left to go in the game!

The Chiefs are on the verge of a major upset if they can outplay New Orleans in the time left in the game. It may be a little too late for the Saints, who needed to score a touchdown on their first possession, but now they put the ball in the dangerous hands of Tony Gonzalez for the Chiefs on the kick return.  On a wild kickoff return, Gonzalez returned the ball 42-yards, and he was hit hard by both tackles for New Orleans, All-Pro William Roaf, and Jim Dombrowski!  On first down for Kansas City, Holmes exploded for 11 yards, hit again by defensive tackle Jim Dombrowski, who just made his third tackle of the game! Kansas City brought the ball all the way to the 47 yard line of New Orleans. On the next run, Holmes was taken down again by Dombrowski! Wow, he's running through the Chiefs tackles Herb Taylor, and Damion McIntosh. That was Dombrowski's fourth tackle of the game, giving him eight for the season.  With second down coming between William Roaf  and Dombrowski the pair has six total tackles in the game. These hard hits have made the Kansas City offense on the run, as push Kansas City to the Chiefs own 42 yard line with 20 yards to go for the first down! The Chiefs are forced to pass on third down. This is a real battle as the intensity heats up with 2:41 left to go in the game! And, Oh my God! Kansas City's Larry Johnson broke through the line and took the pop-pass from Mahomes, a stunning 58 yards upfield for the touchdown as the (1-4), Kansas City Chiefs go ballistic on the road to take the lead with 1:56 left to go in the game, 14-10, Kansas City! Holy Cow!

And with time running out the Saints, Reggie Bush returns the ball 57 yards, and they run out of time on the set-up!  In a major upset, the Kansas City Chiefs (2-4) eliminate the New Orleans Saints (2-4) from the playoffs, and it is certainly not a happy day for Coach Kevin Maloney. The celebration continues on the field as Coach McQueen, who fought hard to win this game,  jumps up in the air waving his arms, as Kansas City just outplayed the Saints today, beating them on their home turf!
