October 19, 2020. Los Angeles, California. This Week#6 Long Island Electric Football League game between Coach Billy O'C's Los Angeles Rams (4-1) and Coach Joey Pizz' New York Jets (3-2) is intriguing because the Jets have had a Cinderella year and the Rams, are the two time back-to-back LIELF Super Bowl Champion. The Jets have a combination of great teamwork. They've scored nine touchdowns and have won two straight games at home. This game is on the road and they have not won a game yet on the road . They opened the season losing to the Buffalo Bills 14-7 on the road, then they beat San Francisco 14-10, and lost to Indianapolis at Indianapolis 17-6, but the big star on their schedule was beating Denver 24-21 in overtime, and Miami 20-14 in overtime. The Jets, for the first time since 2016, are aiming for another shot at the playoffs. There is nobody who stands out on a team more than Jets receiver, Wesley Walker, who has 672 yards with two touchdowns. More than likely this will be Bruce Harper's last season as a Jet as we've seen a strong decline in his last two seasons.

Rams-NFL-Team-Category-Banner_1.thumb.gif.7c73e5c073a4887742b3110a337715ec.gif
The Rams are a whole different ball game this is a team filled with excitement, power, and teamwork. The "Reverend" Isaac Bruce, has 1027 yards with four touchdowns, complimented by Wendell Tyler's running attack who has six touchdowns, and 387 rushing yards on 42 carries.
This Rams team has won two games on the road and two games at home. After their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles 28-21 in Week#2, the Rams have been stellar, beating three tough teams in Buffalo 16-10 at Buffalo in overtime, the New York Giants 21-14, and division rival San Francisco 49ers 16-10 in overtime in San Francisco.

It could be a long day for both teams but Long Island Sports Hall of Fame Inductee, Andrew Slawson of Slawson's Corner, thinks it's going to be a very close game. He said, if you look at the Jets schedule, of course it's not like the Rams, but the Jets have stood up and played some tough teams. There only weakness is on the road, and that's where they'll fall short today. This game will determine whether or not they make it into the postseason and it will be a miracle for the New York Jets to pull off an upset against the Rams. It would be a franchise historic game."

Rams coach Billy O'C just lost with the Buffalo Bills against Denver, so to play back-to-back games at this level will be an experience. The Rams have to come out ready to play and if the Jets can get him into overtime this could end up in a very big upset. It won't be the first time that Jets Coach, Joey Pizz has been in a game like this. The question is can he outsmart the fox?

Picture12.png.9c680882339547d8dd9e213cd2fdb956.pngOn the opening kickoff Los Angeles Rams All-Pro, Isaac Bruce took the ball back 53 yards to set up running back, Wendall Tyler who on first down ran for a first down down to the Jets 32-yard line with 13:01 remaining in the half! After gaining two yards on second down Tyler took it eight yards for a first down, tackled by Jets defensive lineman, Joe Klecko at the Jets 22-yard line with 10:06 left to go in the first half as Billy OC switched things up on the line. It's was going to be tough for this Jets defense to stop Wendell Tyler. And Tyler ran for another first down for the Rams at the 12-yard line of the Jets, with Winston Hill making the tackle. Hill has had a spectacular year for the Jets switching over from the tackle spot to the line, and he's been brilliant, but this will be his biggest challenge yet! On the next play, Tyler scooted in from 12 yards out to give the Rams a 7-0 lead, with 6:36 left to go in the half!

On the Jets opening kickoff, Wesley Walker took it back 56 yards with 5:11 remaining in the half. On first down for the Jets they got pushed back 13-yards by a ferocious NFC West Rams defense, and the Jets had to make some adjustments so that they can figure out a way to get through the Fabulous-Five front line of Los Angeles. There's a lot of talk around the league about these Rams and whether or not they're hungry for a third title, but they have played outstanding football this season.

Jets running back, Le'Veon Bell picked up 11 of the 13 yards that he lost bring the ball to midfield as the Jets are forced to pass on third down. As the first half came to a close Sam Darnell hit Wesley Walker across the middle for a 49-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at 7-7! The Jets are working on all cylinders.

Holy smokes on the first play of the second half Isaac Bruce ran a hundred yard kick return down the Jets sideline into the end zone to make the score 14-7, with 14-47 left to go in the game, the Rams take the lead!

After a 59-yard kick return by Le'Veon Bell the Jets got stuffed on three straight downs, forcing a fourth down field goal attempt from 41 yards away to make the score 14-10 in favor of the Los Angeles Rams, who put on a performance with 7:26 left to go in the game!

Isaac Bruce ran it down the right side again for 45 yards and he was hit hard by Joe Klecko!
rams2art.thumb.jpg.816a9334adf10a8f8f8f889eefe654fc.jpg
Coach Billy O'C and the Rams plan to eat the clock as the Jets put themselves in a serious situation and start to realize there is a possibility that their playoff hopes will be jinxed as Wendell Tyler gets turned back for a 6-yard loss on a great defensive play by the Jets. On second down, Don Maynard came up with a huge tackle for a 15-yard loss back to the Rams 30-yard line forcing a third down play! These Jets are not finished yet! And on third down on a well-fought play by the Jets, Wendell Tyler broke Free at the last second and he took it down field 61 yards into the end zone to make the score 21-10, with 1:56 left to go in the game! The Rams are looking at their fifth win of the season!

And this is exactly what the great teams do. The Rams have their backs against the wall, on the verge of giving the ball back to the Jets who could have taken the lead, but they were denied by this Rams offense who continues to perform under pressure! They've been passing every single test for two years, including when their backs are against the wall, and the Rams teamwork is incredible on this team with 1:06 left to go in the game!

Le'Veon Bell took the ball back 56 yards with an open field tackle made by Rosy Grier, his third of the game with 35 seconds left to go and the Jets decide to kick a field goal and go for the points as the Rams win the game 21-13! What a spectacular finish! The Los Angeles Rams (5-1), saw Wendall Tyler total 103 yards with two touchdowns, one a game piercing 61 yard pass play from quarterback Jared Goff to seal the deal!  Isaac Bruce had three kick returns for 198 yards, with a 100-yard touchdown! The Rams face the Arizona Cardinals next week in the season finale! As for the New York Jets (3-3), they are still in the playoff hunt, but their backs are against the wall. They play on the road again next week at New England and it will take a miracle to beat the Patriots at home.
