Chicago Bears rising star Willie Gault takes back the game-winner in 13 seconds to walk off with a Bears victory in Week#2 over the New York Giants 16-10!

August 12, 2020. Soldier Field, Chicago, Illinois.  In an intense nail-biter this Long Island Electric Football League game between the NFC East New York Giants and the emerging North Division Chicago Bears ended in dramatic fashion with the explosive Bears offense sealing the deal in 13 seconds of overtime! Slawson's corner predicted a great game between the Bears and Giants favoring Chicago by three at home, but this one was a breath-taker with Paddy Brannigan's Chicago Bears outplaying Coach Pizz' New York Giants in a thriller! Unreal!

On the opening drive Chicago's Willie Gault took it back 50-yards for the Chicago Bears. After seven plays for the Bears the Giant defense came up big, forcing the Bears to kick a field-goal with 1:51 left to go in the half making the score 3-0, Bears. The Giants spend almost 13  minutes killing the clock in the first half. In the begining of the second half, New York got busy. Giants running back Saquon Barkley, on his only run of the game took it a league best 60-yards around left tackle Osi Umenyiora for a Giants touchdown, sizzling the Bears defense, but the Bears were just getting warmed up!

On the Bears next possession legendary Walter Payton had some extreme razzle-dazzle moves, one for a 3-yard gain and another one for a 29-yard run as he was spinning out of bounds and picked up an extra 10 yards when he was hit by another player from his own team taking the ball to the New York Giants 26-yard line with 9:17 left to go in the game. After three seasons the Bears pick-ups in the Draft are paying off for Coach Brannigan as he was loud and proud yelling for his team to perform, as we EFLer's do when we play in a big game. There is no quit in this Bear team as they drove 55 yards downfield in 8th plays, eating up the clock as Walter Payton ran into the end zone from 5 yards away to put the Chicago Bears ahead of the New York Giants 10-7 with 3:25 left in the game. What a game! Nothing but excitement! The Bears are in-sync and playing well as a team.

On the Giants kick-off, Odell Beckham Jr., ran the ball back 64-yards on the kick return to set up the Giants at the 36-yard line of the Chicago Bears with 1:50 left in the game. With the clock winding down the Giants had a chance to win the game, but a spectacular tackle by Don Hampton on Ahmad Bradshaw saved the day as this game was out of time and heading to overtime.

For the second straight week, Chicago found themselves in another overtime game, losing last week's dual 34-28, in a historic battle with division rival Detroit. Willie Gault shinned in that game with a spectacular 236 yard day with a hundred yard kick-return for a touchdown.  The Bears won the overtime coin toss and from their own end-zone in dramatic fashion, the Giants just couldn't touch Gault as he whizzed down the Giants sideline for 100 yard kick-return in 13 seconds in overtime as the Chicago Bears win a huge game 16-10! Gault finished with 195 yards, totaling 485 yards with his third touchdown of the year, and Walter Payton rushed for 74 yards against a tough New York defense. Something special is going on with this Bears team as Coach Brannigan prepares them for the Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta next week for an exciting showdown with the great Gerald Riggs and Atlanta Falcons (1-0). The Bears have 44 points in two games! Coach Pizz was speechless.  He has been in some of the most exciting games this league has seen as his Giants (1-1) prepare for (0-2) San Francisco 49ers and Ricky Watters next week.
