August 9, 2020 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In a huge game between the Pittsbugh Steelers (0-1) and the high-octane Denver Broncos, the Broncos took a ride on the "Bus" Jerome Bettis who totaled 205 yards in the game and 26 yards rushing. Bettis and the Steelers opened the game with a 74-yard kick-return blazing by the 2019 #1 defense in the LIEFL!  The Broncos came up big last week beating the Tennessee Titans 24-21 in a game that Terrell Davis totaled 370 all-purpose yards with two hundred yard touchdown runs. This game with Coach Brannigan's Steelers wouldn't end the way Denver alternate coach Billy O'C thought it would.  Because Brannigan plays for both teams, O'Connell is the alternate coach.  After last week's loss the New York Giants, Brannigan practiced this week to beat his Broncos.  Brannigan said, "It's tough to play against one of my own teams, but my goal is to get one of my four teams to the playoffs."

On the second play the game Pittsburgh's Jerome Bettis ran in a 26-yard touchdown to get the Steelers into the end-zone, 7-0!  The Broncos took it down to the last minute of the half to score on a 28-yard touchdown reception from Denver quarterback John Elway to wide receiver, Ed McCaffrey to tie the score, 7-7! The Denver defense showed up, stopping Bettis and the Steeler run on second down, forcing Pittsburgh to kick a 59-yard field goal to make the score 10-7, Steelers!

The Pittsburgh defense played the Broncos very tough after a 58-yard kick return by Terrell Davis. The Steelers stop the Broncos on the first two runs. On third down they forced Denver to pass as Elway hit Shannon Sharpe for a first-down at the 18-yard line of the Steelers, for a pickup of 29 yards. After a great 17-yard run by Davis. Davis ran in a tight 4-yard run with 4:04 remaining in the game with the score Denver 14 and Pittsburgh 10. The Steelers went to work fast. On first down Lynn Swann broke away for a 30 yard touchdown pass from Terry Bradshaw putting the Steelers up 17-14, with a minute left to go in the game. Denver's Davis took back a long run 22 yards to end the game with the Steelers winning and dramatic fashion giving the Broncos the first loss of the season.

What a thriller!  The Steelers hand the Broncos their first loss of the season as they head back to Denver to face Tampa Bay (0-1) next week. Pittsburgh faces one of the best backs in the league next week at home against the Houston Texans (0-1).
