    Coach,

In TOEPRO Football you don’t know the offense’s play, however, the defensive front can shift “over” to cover the tight end either move down the strong linebacker.

In the offensive formation provided (Ace), a good choice is an “over” DL front with the LBs shifting to the weak.

Makes sense. Thank you Coach Kit.

Are you asking about a defensive concern (outside contain) or offensive (can't get TE open)?

I put a fast TTC base on the TE.  This allows me to (try to) get him open over the middle or toward the sideline or use him as a blocker on a run play.  Also, I'll often have the TE drop off the line (we use 5 yards in our league) and put the WR at the end of the line.  That cushion gives the TE some room to maneuver.

Ok, thanks. I was looking at it as a defensive perspective. I might have to use the 5 yard rule myself.

I can say for me that the Tight End is an integral part of my offense. In competitive play, they get some of the best bases that I have, so they can knock around a linebacker or become a speed concern to a secondary.

In Solitaire play, they are based as accurately as possible to their true instincts. However, you should always have someone picking up the TE on each play, that just makes sense.

Show your TE some love and give them an upgrade on the base.

Thanks, you’re right. It does make sense to always have a defender picking up the tight end during every play.

  4. Hey guys!

I’ve been practicing with my Carolina Panthers and was trying to figure out the best way to keep outside contain when there is a tight end(s) on the same side. While the defense doesn’t know what to expect, I usually put the defensive end or linebacker on the outside shoulder of the tight end(s). As a defensive, it works on running plays but when it’s a pass play, the tight end(s) is always jammed an never open. What do you suggest for better gameplay?

It takes a minute to get the hang of application, but I can knock out a complete player in about 15 minutes, give or take. It’s great for me because I have absolutely NO skills painting! I’ve collected everything older I want, so Uni-Forms have reinvigorated my interest in collecting. Unfortunately, to the chagrin of my wife. 😂

Oh good. I’ll have to try it out then.

Awesome story! Gorgeous board! I got my first board at age 6 in 1967. My next board was the Super Bowl III game from Sears. Still has the $12.88 price tag on it. This is a great hobby with many avenues to approach it with. Right now the Uni-Forms are my go to for relaxation, but with the forums, I can keep up with those many facets. Welcome to the hobby, and be careful. You could end up at 61 years old and still just as in love with it as Christmas morning 1967.

Wow, that’s great! Thank you! This is a great hobby and is relaxing. How are the Uni-Forms? I haven’t tried them before.

Andre, I was a Department of Defense auditor for 39 years and used Excel for work and my football league for about 30 years, so I had a lot of practice!  🙂  There are a lot of tutorials out there to show you how to use it if you don't feel like experimenting with it.

Oh wow! That’s great! Yes please try. I just started watching tutorials about excel and I am intrigued. This should be an exciting project!

I would like to trim the games down to one hour but I don't want to lower the number of plays and I like having some record of each game, so I guess it will remain 2 hours. I also at times play the first half one day, and the second half the next day.

Yeah, having some kind of break during the game is helpful.

    Rick,

Love the stat sheets. Very impressive. Even with just my rudimentary stats it takes 2 hours to complete a game which is why I don't go to a more sophisticated stat system because my guess is it would take considerably longer.  How long does it take you to complete a game?

It takes me hours. Sometimes I might do the first half one day and the second half the next day because I have to do everything myself and also I stop the clock after every play so I have time to play the game.

Well, with Excel, you can sort the info however you like. At the end of the season, I use the stats to select all pro teams for my pro bowl. I have summary sheets that track individual players season totals and career stats as well.  Like I said, I'm kind of a statistics nerd. 😄

Yeah I was headed in that route. The biggest challenge to overcome is the programming aspect. Did you look online to learn how to put it together?

    Sample Packers Team Sheets.xlsxAndre,

I have been playing a solitaire league for about 57 years and have developed a spreadsheet system for tracking my players through the seasons.  I'm kind of a statistics nerd, and the excel spreadsheet I developed works pretty well for me.   I print the record for both teams for each game and write the results of the plays on the record (carries, yards, completions, receptions, tackles, sacks, etc).  When the game is over I update the spreadsheets, so it is ready for the next game the team plays.  I have 16 teams in my league, so I have separate spreadsheets for each one.  Note the sample shows totals after the Packers first four games.

    Sample Packers Team Sheets.xlsx 44.3 kB · 2 downloads

Wow! I was thinking something like this with filters to help sort different players in different areas.

    Hi Andre,

I'm hopelessly old school. I have a notebook that I jot down each play of every game and keep the play count as I have 8 plays per quarter. At the end of the season, I have in my head the player(s) from each team that should be considered as MVP. I then give them points, positive or negative based on the plays recorded in the notebook. Not a polished system, but I'm not interested in getting too crazy with stats.

You have a good point. The more I was thinking about these stats, it just felt like too much. But I do like your idea.

  13. Hi, my name is Andre. I just joined the forums the other day and I want to share a little backstory of how I got interested in electric football.

Back when I was a child I would get a toy from the store every time I visited my Grandparents. One day, my Grandfather and I went to Target to pick out something. We then came across the Pavilion Electric Football Set. I love football and it looked pretty interesting, so we got the set. Later that day, I played with it and we were all fascinated with how the red and white figures moved on this vibrating board. Years went on and as I kept playing with this board I was starting to feel dissatisfied because I wanted a board that had the features of a monster board. I was looking online to see if anyone else was playing electric football like me. I find all these videos on YouTube about the electric football tournaments and channels like FAT8 Conference, PlayEF, and Eltoro49. I was so fascinated by the different designs, the boards were up to scale, and the game looked realistic. I told myself, “I wanted something like that!“ So it wasn’t until 2016 when I had to do a Passion Project in middle school, that I wanted to make a monster board for my project. I teamed up with a good friend from church that has a tool shop and we built the wonderful 5ft x 28in electric football table! I presented it at school and it was a hit! Everyone came over to see what the electric football table was about! This project even helped me get into my high school that I recently graduated from. And at that point on, I’ve been trying to expand my collection as far as more teams, more bases, and more tweaking.

I hope that helps you guys know about me a little more. I’m so glad to be a part of the electric football community!

  14. Hey guys,

I’m trying to do my own solitaire league and this is my first season. I have something I use to keep track of stats over the course of the season, but I’m having trouble ranking team stats and player stats. My goal is to see who is leading over the other based on performance. Please share your ideas!!!
