Wk. 2 - LSU @ FLORIDA

Recommended Posts

In the next game of week 2 action we will be seeing the 0-1 defending national champions LSU Tigers travel to The Swamp to take on the 0-1 Florida Gators in what should be a good game. LSU is coming off a game where they lost to Georgia. The offense played great including sophomore QB Ian McCall but the defense was unable to stop RB Kennedy Shook, allowing 115 yards and 3 TDs on the ground. The LSU defense will have their hands full again today with RB Charles Chabonneau who is looking to have a bounce back game. Which brings me to Florida who is coming off a 3 point loss to Florida St where Charbonneau was unable to get anything going against a stout FSU defense, even Kennedy Shook struggled a bit against them in their week 2 battle. Freshman QB Rodney Burgess played well throwing 2 TDs and Steven Dart had a good showing as well. LSU is 6.5 point favorites with the O/U being 41.5

PLAYERS TO WATCH:

LSU - WR Dontavion Norris(CURRENT STATS: 4 cat, 185 yds, 2 TD)

UF - WR Steven Dart(CURRENT STATS: 2 cat, 128 yds, 1 TD)

Florida opens the game driving down field finishing the drive off with a 50 yard TD run from QB Rodney Burgess taking a 7-0 lead. LSU responds with a long TD run from RB Kenneth Blevins to tie the game 7-7. Florida then gets stopped by the LSU defense and on the ensuing possession LSU drives down field finishing the drive with a 20 yard TD pass to Dontavion Norris.IMG_9852.thumb.jpeg.2e308e205542f5c5dc4be54eca78d08b.jpegIMG_9854.thumb.jpeg.e9ef9d5fd8821c511daf036a5e76b2a3.jpeg

Florida follows up the score with a beautiful pass from Rodney Burgess to Melvin Clarke for a 65 yard TD to tie the game at 14. On LSU’s next possession Edge rusher for Florida Deandre Rockette gets a strip sack and gets a scoop and score. Florida leads 21-14IMG_9864.thumb.jpeg.ba5f75710b8ad9a6b62cd19d28d147b7.jpegIMG_9865.thumb.jpeg.0fd0726edb49a102808cee0887459322.jpeg

In a shootout LSU SOMEHOW pulls out the win. On Florida’s possession they open with a 25 yard pass completion to Steven Dart, then a handoff to Charbonneau goes for 50 yards and a TD giving them the lead 28-21. LSU then gets backed up at their own 15 following a sack, then on third down Ian McCall hits TE Magic Wright for an 80 yard TD. Score 28-28. Florida decides to turn it up a notch hitting a deep pass to Steven Dart on the second play of the possession which goes for a long TD to regain the lead 35-28. This is where I lost all hope for LSU down 7 with 6 plays left Ian McCall does the unimaginable breaking through the middle of 2 sacks with pure speed and rushing into the redzone followed up by a 10 yard TD pass to Leo Thunder. No better time than now for the defense to show up and they do just that as Jonathan “Lockdown” Wiggins gets an int and good field position. And with 2 plays left in the game a pass is completed to backup RB Joseph Williams then QB Ian McCall runs in a 30 yard TD once again proving why he is oh so dangerous through the air and ground and keeping the defending champions morals high after a week 1 loss. LSU 42 FLORIDA 35, this was a classicIMG_9872.thumb.jpeg.a70320fbab69f0cba379d6f23593c6a0.jpegIMG_9873.thumb.jpeg.8c0a9c4fbc9aaa099539177313783300.jpegIMG_9874.thumb.jpeg.d13d5058c775011d2bac756a9bf04dbc.jpegIMG_9875.thumb.jpeg.5fd4344c85f0325cfcd701ca6a6ca12c.jpegIMG_9867.thumb.jpeg.92338338e4d4cf22062cdf465ed93ae7.jpeg
