Our next matchup will feature 2 teams that are (1-1). The LSU Tigers travel to take on the Auburn Tigers. Week 3 is really where those questions start to come up and there are many surrounding the players in this game. 1 question on everyone’s mind is when will Brady Augustus pick up the slack for this Auburn rushing attack? It seems he has been pretty mediocre thus far in the season and Coach Freeze has got to be thinking about turning to the backup sooner rather than later. Another question surrounds LSU WR Leo Thunder, a receiver who last season finished with 239 yards and 2 TD as the WR3 and went on a rampage in the playoffs including the National Championship game where he had 3 cat, 157 yds, 2 TD, 2 PR, 110 yds, 1 TD. This season he has been nothing short of disappointing with just 2 catches, 23 yards, and 1 TD being massively outshined by Dontavion Norris. Either way both teams will need a win here as their schedules will start to heat up in the back half of the season.

PLAYERS TO WATCH:

LSU QB Ian McCall(Heisman Leader): 16/24, 446 yds, 6 TD, 1 INT, 1 FUM, 4 car, 138 yds, 1 TD

AU S Kamel Darrington: 5 tackles, 2 TFLs, 1 INT, 1 TD

Defending champions LSU elect to kick the ball and they get a stop fast, with big plays by EDGE Gordon and some missed passes by QB Ian Banks LSU now has to drive 95 yards down field. RB Kenneth Blevins breaks off a huge run to get much better field position. And from there Leo Thunder must have heard me talking because it was strictly his show, he grabbed 3 catches for 50 yards and a TD on the first drive to put LSU up 7-0.IMG_0892.thumb.jpeg.ef7c1479897ffb4266de55c6b60520ab.jpegIMG_0893.thumb.jpeg.3a84763577acc3a65a7bbf0c22dae34c.jpegIMG_0894.thumb.jpeg.a8f9e15f151ee8e1586aa40a7dc34362.jpeg

Auburn is right back on their heels as a 10 yard run by Augustus, followed up by a 50 yard pitch and catch from Ian Banks to Kolby Bryant the Tigers are knocking on the doorstep. Ian Banks fakes the run but Joseph Cooper doesn’t fall for it and keeps his contain but under immense pressure Banks find WR Robbie Thornton with a step on his man and he delivers a strike for the 15 yard TD. LSU continues their offensive dominance easily driving down field and finishing the drive with a 1 yard TD pass to Edward Davis. Auburn quickly responds with a 5 play drive capped off by a Robbie Thornton TD. This is a fun game so far you can see the skill differences in the players/bases and why certain guys are considered stars in this league. Robbie Thornton is definitely one of them the true freshman is a monster.

What a game. After the Auburn score LSU keeps their foot on the gas with big pass after big pass, Dontavion Norris who has been quiet most of the game finds an open spot in the zone and he takes a 15 yard dig 30 yards to the endzone to retake a 2 possession lead. Auburn is back on the offensive as QB Ian Banks rifles a back should dart to Robbie Thornton 40 yards down field. he then throws another dot to Jaxon Love on a deep out and find Love again in the endzone wide open to pull within 3. the score was too little too late as 2 first downs later LSU was able to milk the clock and walk out with a 24-21 victory over the Auburn Tigers. QB Ian McCall is continuing to make his case for heisman and this was a statement game he was phenomenal today. As for Auburn QB Ian Banks continues to show growth as a pocket passer and i can see a heisman in the future for the freshman. LSU may very well be on their way to a 3 peat which is insane.

BOO i’m a current student at Alabama😂😃

I wish you had not posted that Jayethekxng! Now I'm going to have to pack my very-well tweaked LSU team and meet you at an event to teach you a lesson! Mind you, Mike Pratt tweaked these bases for me, so I'll introduce you to the woodshed "tout de suite"!

Plastic has memory and bases don't stay tweaked so I'd say the odds favor Coach Jayethekxxng.

Enjoy the Journey and the clash of tigers.  T43.  🏈♾️

GB Glenn, I gotta go with Terry. The last time those bases were tweaked was when Obama was in the White House.

GreenBayGlenn vs. Jayethekxng playing LSU at Bama? Yes, please.

OK, I got my popcorn ready for this one.

Maybe Jayethekxng wasn't even born yet the last time my Tigers took the field! Yikes!

You know, maybe I should pack my bags for a road trip! My bucket list includes going to a live game at each home field of the SEC. I've never been to Bama's stadium. I did meet and interview Bear Bryant though when I was a radio sports reporter!
