I am currently using a Tudor Ultimate board with a magnetic cover and am using 2 field drive motors hooked up by the "hub" and one battery controller  I am not getting the type of performance I hoped for.  Dead spots and slow movement.  I have to turn the dial up almost all the way to get any movement at all.  I took the mag cover off and it was a tinge better but not what I expected.

If I switched to the AC-DC controller/motor would that help?  If not, aside from the sometimes expensive 3rd party motors, are there any suggestions for improving?

Thank you!

Chris

I'm pretty late to the game on this question, but I have a tudor ultimate board that I use with a single GBN motor and it runs really smooth.  I'll take this combo with me to events or tournaments and everyone who has played on it has liked it.  The GBN motor is no longer made, but you can usually find one used on ebay or in the FB groups that someone is usually selling for $25 - 30.  That's how I obtained mine.  The GBN motor is the same as the old "Joe Allore" motors, just a different housing.
