PREGAME

Season 34 has come down to the undefeated GTO and the undefeated Sirens of Titan. Pontiac's GTO appeared in Fruit Bowl 20 in a losing effort against the Egyptians so they must be considered the underdogs when compared to Kurt Vonnegut's Sirens of Titan.

The Sirens of Titan won Fruit Bowls #3, #10, #12, and most recently Fruit Bowl #30. Some of you may remember this video from 4 seasons ago.

 

The Sirens of Titan were riding on Tudor yellow convention bases when they won Fruit Bowls #3, #10, and #12. They were riding on Tudor red convention bases when they beat the Christmas Spirit in Fruit Bowl #30. Now the Sirens are riding on Tudor Gray sparkly bases. The Tudor gray convention bases weren't very good — in my experience — but these gray sparkly bases are good enough to win another Fruit Bowl. The little plastic peeps are the same figures from Fruit Bowl #30. Just the bases have changed.

Incidentally, the Sirens of Titan have never lost a Fruit Bowl.

GTO cornerback #25 finished the game with two interceptions, a quarterback sack, and a solo open-field tackle. The quarterback sack forced the Sirens to kick a field goal and the GTO retained a 3-point lead. At the end of the game when the Sirens were driving for a potential game winning touchdown, or a tying field goal at least, CB #26 picked off a pass intended for TE #88.

For these game-changers I awarded the Fruit Bowl MVP to CB #25.

In MVP voting GTO halfback #37 was a very, very close second. I considered letting DB #25 and HB #37 share the honor. Here's why.

 

The NFL may be struggling with Kickoff Returns but the Heavy Metal Electric Football Consortium is having no problems.

As you can see, I could have split the MVP three ways and given a third to GTO wide receiver / kick Returner #10.

Now that season 34 is in the books it is time for me to give the GTO their place of honor in my Fruit Bowl Memorial Display. 

 The GTO will get the bright orange square in the 7th row.

The GTO will also receive a kicker for their first Fruit Bowl win.
