When cleaning out my parents attic, I came across a complete set of the AFC Western division electronic football men from the early 1980s. The reason I say early 80s is I remember buying these for my younger brother, who was born in 1970, for Christmas one year. It’s possible that it was the late 70s as well but I’m pretty sure it was early 80s. The set includes my Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs and the Seattle Seahawks, who were in the AFC West at that time. I’m looking to see if anyone knows if there’s any value to the set and if anybody on this forum who still plays is interested in them. They are still in the original box. I have fond memories of playing electric football growing up and I’m glad I learned there is still a vibrant community playing the game. I’m also considering keeping the set myself and getting back into playing. Any responses would be appreciative

Boy! Wish I had a brother to buy me a whole set of teams! You are fortunate to have those teams! Now, I would hang on to them, but if you are interested in selling them, eBay is a great place to get a line on what you could get for them. All together in an original team box, they could incite quite the bidding war. Not send your kid to college money, but pretty good pocket change.

Now, I detect quite a bit of sentimental value attached to your teams. Like the ad says…”Priceless!”

Very cool discovery.  I have the same set from the early 80's, that I chose and received as a Christmas present.  I still use them in my solitaire league.  I never knew how Tudor decided to choose the home and away uniforms that they would send.  The Raiders, Broncos, and Chargers came in light jersey uniforms, while the Chiefs and Seahawks were in dark.  Looking at my Seahawks, they are painted in a darker navy blue.  I think they were supposed to be in a brighter blue, comparing them to their vintage retro jerseys they've been wearing the last couple of years.

Tudor has occasionally produced some interesting shades of colors. I have a set of home Seahawks still bagged because they are the most unusual shade of blue. I really don’t have any color to compare them to. Sad part is I can’t remember when I ordered them. They are stamped helmet uniforms so I figure it had to be in the Miggle era. I’ll dig them out and post some pics sometime. You should take some pics of your haul as well! We all love the photos and videos!

I'm just guessing.

Raiders away: black numbers

Broncos and Chargers away: Blue numbers

Chiefs and Seahawks home: white numbers.

Tudor could ship five teams and only include three number sheets. The Raiders would get black numbers, rather than silver, because black numbers would work with a bunch of NFL and college teams.

Just a guess.

Enjoy the Journey.   T43.    🏈♾️

Do you still have the electric football field? Does it work?

Do you still have the original Total Team Control (TTC) bases?

If yes, bundle the lot on eBay.

Enjoy the bidding war.   T43.    🏈♾️

Those were the colors provided, but I can't recall how many number sticker sheets were provided with the AFC West set.

So, essentially you bought them for yourself (in the long run, LOL).

Just a thought here since I don't know how they did it back then, but if Tudor used the numbers of real life players, you could check and see who the QB, RB's, TE and other position players are to determine the year. The Raiders roster changed almost yearly with key additions like Marcus Allen (#32) not showing up until 83' and others like Jack Tatum leaving after 79'...

The QB would probably be sufficient. I've lost track of how many Denver Broncos teams I've acquired that had a #7.

Mark Van Eeghen and Marcus Allen in the same backfield?😯 That hardly seems fair Coach, lol

Seriously though, I'm wanting to have a Raiders team done soon that will probably include players on the same roster who didn't actually play together in real life too.

For example, I'm looking at the 83' team, but then wanting to include Van Eeghen , Biletnikoff, Art Shell, and possibly Tatum as well. I thought about adding Bo Jackson too, but that's almost being cruel to the competition. 😜
